Venezuela pulled off a stunning 2-1 comeback victory over Ecuador in their opening Group B match of the Copa América 2024 at Levi's Stadium in California, USA. Despite going down early, the 'Vinotinto' showed resilience and secured their first three points of the tournament.

Ecuador started strong, dominating possession and creating early chances. However, their momentum took a hit with the expulsion of Enner Valencia in the 22nd minute. Despite being down to ten men, Ecuador managed to take the lead with a superb goal from Jeremy Sarmiento in the 40th minute.

In the second half, Venezuela took advantage of their numerical superiority and turned the game around. Jhonder Cádiz equalized in the 65th minute, followed by Eduard Bello's decisive goal in the 75th minute, completing the comeback.

With this result, Venezuela temporarily tops Group B, awaiting the outcome of the match between Mexico and Jamaica. Venezuela will face Mexico on Wednesday, June 26, while Ecuador will play against Jamaica on the same day.
