Belgium Run Riot in 5–2 Victory Over USA

Belgium national football team produced a dominant second-half performance to defeat United States men's national soccer team 5–2 in an entertaining, high-scoring clash.

The match started brightly for the United States, who took the lead in the 39th minute through Weston McKennie, finishing from close range after a well-worked corner routine. The hosts looked energetic and dangerous, creating multiple chances through Christian Pulisic and Folarin Balogun.

Belgium responded just before halftime, as Zeno Debast fired home from distance to level the match at 1–1 heading into the break.

The second half, however, belonged entirely to Belgium. In the 53rd minute, Amadou Onana gave the visitors the lead with a composed finish inside the box, shifting the momentum decisively.

Moments later, Belgium extended their advantage from the penalty spot. Charles De Ketelaere converted confidently after a handball decision, making it 3–1.

Belgium continued to exploit space and added a fourth in the 68th minute through Dodi Lukébakio, who produced a clinical finish before striking again in the 82nd minute to complete his brace and put the match beyond reach at 5–1.

The USA managed a late consolation in the 87th minute, with Patrick Agyemang finishing from close range after good work from Ricardo Pepi, but it proved to be too little, too late.

Despite a promising first half, the United States were unable to contain Belgium’s attacking depth and efficiency after the break.
