Los Angeles FC Edge Seattle Sounders FC in Tight Western Conference Battle

By Ruben Santa Cruz

Los Angeles FC secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Seattle Sounders FC thanks to a late winner from Timothy Tillman in a tense and physical matchup.

Both teams created chances throughout the night, but goalkeepers Thomas Hasal and Andrew Thomas kept the score level with several important saves. Seattle threatened early through Jordan Morris and Albert Rusnák, while LAFC responded with attacking pressure led by Denis Bouanga, David Martínez, and Son Heung-min.

Son Heung-min was heavily involved in LAFC’s attack, generating multiple attempts and dangerous moments around the box, but Seattle’s defense repeatedly stepped in with key blocks. On the other side, Danny Musovski nearly broke the deadlock for Seattle in the second half when he struck the crossbar in the 76th minute.

LAFC finally found the breakthrough in the 86th minute. Tyler Boyd delivered the ball into the area after combining with Mark Delgado, and Timothy Tillman calmly finished from close range to give the home side the decisive goal.

Seattle pushed forward aggressively in stoppage time with several corners and long-range efforts from Rusnák and Snyder Brunell, but LAFC’s defense held firm to preserve the clean sheet and secure all three points.

The victory gives LAFC another important result in the Western Conference race, while Seattle was left frustrated after failing to capitalize on several promising opportunities.
