Sounders Seal Road Victory In Dallas

Updated: Apr 19

The Sounders travelled to Dallas and captured a vital 1-0 victory, marking Seattle’s second win of the season. Pedro de la Vega returned into the starting lineup after sustaining a leg injury in March, and additionally, Morris was made available for the first time since his groin injury. Former Sounder Leo Chu started on the bench for Dallas and entered the action 58th minute. Sounders defender Yeimar hit a club milestone with his start against FC Dallas, marking his 150th club appearance.

Another notable feature was Jesus Ferreira starting against his old club of seven years. Schmetzer previously said that Ferreira would be getting many more playing opportunities, as he was on a minute’s restriction due to injury troubles after he signed for the Sounders. Now that Ferreira's been consistently starting in April, supporters can get a better look at the 24-year-old. Ferreira maintained over 80% passing accuracy rate and played the full game.

Danny Musovski scored his first of the 2025 season by breaking the deadlock at the 17th minute when he hit a rebound off a thunderous Pedro de la Vega shot off the post, which ‘The Moose’ perfectly timed his position to stay onside.

Kim Kee Hee, who had recently re-signed with Seattle after five years back in his home country of South Korea, the veteran defender made his second debut for the Sounders. Ragen was forced off with right hamstring issues around the 46th minute, and though it was a premature substitution to Schmetzer’s preference, everybody rooting for Seattle enjoyed the moment of Kim’s return.

The Sounders were able to hold onto the 1-0 road victory, capturing three early-season vital points. After the match, Brian Schmetzer said that Kim Kee Hee led the team’s tradition of singing ‘Jingle Bells’ after away victories.

While striker Jordan Morris was available on the bench, the 30-year-old did not end up featuring in the match. Morris was forced out of action in March due to a hamstring injury and will be expected to return to play in the future. Additionally, new Seattle signee Ryan Kent will not be available for action until he obtains his P1 visa and is expected to make his debut around the end of the month.

The Sounders will return home after three consecutive road matches on Saturday to face Eastern Conference side Nashville SC, who sit at 6th place in the east at 4-1-3. Against the Sounders, Nashville are unbeaten since entering the MLS in 2020, and the two clubs did not face each other last season.
