Vancouver Whitecaps 3–3 D.C. United

What a wild six-goal thriller in Vancouver. The Whitecaps and D.C. United played out a 3–3 draw, with the lead changing hands multiple times and D.C. United scoring the equalizer late in the second half.

D.C. United struck first in the 16th minute. Kimito Nono finished from inside the box after D.C. created sustained pressure around the Vancouver penalty area.

Vancouver responded in the 25th minute through Brian White, who finished from the center of the box to make it 1–1.

The Whitecaps then completed the first-half comeback in 45+3'. Bruno Caicedo cut the ball into the bottom-right corner, with Thomas Müller providing the assist. Vancouver went into halftime leading 2–1.

D.C. United leveled again in the 65th minute, when center back Lucas Bartlett headed home a corner from Keisuke Kurokawa.

Then came Thomas Müller. In the 72nd minute, the German midfielder fired a right-footed shot from outside the box into the bottom-right corner to put Vancouver back in front, 3–2.

But D.C. refused to go away.

In the 80th minute, Kimito Nono scored his second goal of the match, finishing from the center of the box after a combination involving Hosei Kijima and Lucas Bartlett.

Vancouver had chances to win it late. The Whitecaps earned two corners in the 90th minute, while Mathias Laborda had a header opportunity in the fifth minute of stoppage time but missed wide.
