D.C. United land Nathan Ordaz from LAFC

Washington, D.C.- On Monday afternoon, D.C. United announced the signing of El Salvador international Nathan Ordaz from LAFC in a transfer move worth around $2.4 million, with an extra $500,000 in additional add-ons if he meets certain performance incentives.
"Nathan is an exciting talent who has shown a natural ability to score goals and provide assists,” said Dr. Erkut Sogut, D.C. United Managing Director of Soccer Operations. “He works relentlessly on both sides of the ball, and he provides us flexibility as he can play as both a striker and a winger. We are excited for Nathan to join our family in the second half of our season as we continue to re-shape our roster and build a winning culture.”
The 22-year-old LAFC academy product played three and a half seasons for the Black and Gold. He made his professional debut in 2023 in a US Open Cup match against Monterey Bay FC. He made 98 appearances with LAFC, scoring 14 goals and recording 8 assists. His standout season was 2025, when Ordaz scored 5 goals and recorded 5 assists in 26 league matches. He also featured for LAFC during the 2025 Club World Cup. Ordaz joined the LAFC academy in 2018 and has played for their MLS Next Pro side, LAFC 2, and had a short loan spell with Las Vegas Lights FC in the USL Championship.
Ordaz has represented El Salvador in both the youth and senior levels, playing for their U20’s. He earned his first cap for La Selecta in 2024 in a friendly against Bonaire in a match that ended in a 1-1 draw. He was featured prominently during the World Cup qualifiers for the Salvadorian National team, and has amassed 14 appearances for them, scoring 2 goals and recording 3 assists.
Ordaz joins D.C. as a U22 initiative player.
