FC Cincinnati Win Two at Home in Leagues Cup.

CINCINNATI, OH - FC Cincinnati defeated the Oldest Professional Club in Mexico, winning 3-1 against Club de Fútbol Pachuca at TQL Stadium on Tuesday evening, before defeating Pumas in a 2-0 win, their first clean sheet since April 25.

FC Cincinnati trailed early after former Feyenoord winger Oussama Idrissi beat Cincinnati defender Sami Gidi and assisted Adrián Alcaraz's header for the first goal of the match.

Pachuca would continue to statistically dominate the match, recording 23 shots in the match to Cincinnati's 10, with a total 7 shots on target includiung the opening goal. Cincinnati made the most of their chances.

18th minute, Evander equalized with a curling shot from outside the box.

Tied 1-1, Cincinnati's wingbacks Pavel Bucha and Bryan Ramírez, two of only four starters to start both the win on Saturday against San Jose Earthquakes and Tuesday night's win over CF Pachuca, as Ramírez's low cross goes untouched across the face of goal for an unmarked finish for Bucha at the back post.

Cincinnati would get a third on the break, Ender Echenique to Kenji Mboma Dem, a recipe repeated for the second goal in the second match of the week against Pumas.

The second match at TQL Stadium would happen just three days later on Friday night. After a short 17 minute weather delay, FC Cincinnati kicked off against LigaMX's Pumas.

Pumas played in Charlotte earlier in the week, losing 3-0 in the other Queen City. The Liga MX side had played in a traditional 4-3-3 system in the loss, but changed up their system to mirror Cincinnati.

Pumas played in a sort of 3-4-2-1, with former Houston Dynamo midfielder Coco Carrasquilla and Luciano Herrera as dueling 10s that stretched the field wide in possession. Kenji Mboma Dem of FC Cincinnati admitted after the match that Pumas playing in this system was a bit of a surprise and resulted in early adjustments for the hosts.

Despite that, FC Cincinnati kept their first clean sheet since April in a 2-0 win, scoring a goal in each half's stoppage time. Repeat goalscorers Pavel Bucha and Kenji Mboma Dem scored against the three-time UCL champion Keylor Navas in the win.
