The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum witness yet again another performance of the Mexican National Team. With many questions s in their starting eleven and the fear of the famous homophobic chant, the National Team plays against Nigeria hoping to have clear who will play in the Gold Cup.
At the pregame press conference, Gerardo “Taya” Martino informed that Alfredo Talavera was going to start as a goalkeeper.
The goal feast began in the fourth minute. After a good corner, Hector Herrera went to the second post without any mark and score the first goal. Minutes later, Rogelio Funes Mori, the man of the controversy due to his naturalization, placed THE BALL AT THE NET AFTER A BAD SHOT BY Hirving “Chucky” Lozano. The Argentine was booed during the team call-up, but after his goal, he changed the bad atmosphere toward him to claps.
The second half had the same tendency as the first one; a dominant Mexican team without a lot of opposition from its rival. Hector Herrera scored his second goal of the night at the 53rd minute; he placed himself in the area and put the 3-0. The Coliseum went nuts.
The two LA Galaxy players, Jonathan dos Santos and Efrain Alvarez entered the game at the 67th and 79th minute. A minute before the youngster step into the field, Jonathan dos Santos scored the fourth goal. In total, two strikers and two midfielders were present in the scoreline. Good numbers forTata’s team before the Gold Cup.
The Mexican National Team will start their Gold Cup journey against an opponent that has not been defined yet.
