“Bernabéu Stadium was privileged to see a thriller as Spain and Brazil put it back and forth with three goals each.”
This game was one of the most anticipated, not due to the recent involvement of social issues revolving around Vinicius Jr. At the start of the game, both teams sent a message against racism under the motto “the same skin.” Putting that aside, the game was a very spectacle.
Spain started off taking the lead with a controversial penalty. Rodrigo converted the first one, and then Dani Olmo put one up for Spain with a big shot to the net in the 36th minute of the game. Brazil got back into the game with an outstanding finish from Rodrigo, who took advantage of a pass from Unai Simon.
Real Madrid’s future star Endrick stepped up for Brazil, giving the equalizer to Brazil just five minutes after the second-half whistle, notching a goal and the second during the international break. During the second half, the game remained scoreless towards the end, where another penalty kick was conceded in favor of Spain.
Rodri took full accountability and scored the third goal close to the final whistle. With Spain almost securing the victory, Carbajal challenged it in the box, giving a penalty to the Brazilians. Brazil’s Lucas Paqueta took the shot and scored the goal that gave a 3-3 score.
This game will be one for the books as both nations do not face each other regularly, and far beyond the score, the fans in attendance can say that they witnessed some of the best players of the world representing their national backgrounds.
