Vancouver Whitecaps FC stole the show in a wild 5–3 victory over FC Dallas, a game packed with drama, penalties, and late heroics. From the opening minutes, both teams traded opportunities, but it was FC Dallas who struck first. Petar Musa put the home side ahead with a precise finish in the 25th minute, giving Dallas an early advantage.
Vancouver responded quickly, and the match soon descended into a penalty shootout frenzy during open play, with both sides converting and missing from the spot multiple times. Thomas Müller and Sebastian Berhalter kept the Whitecaps on level terms, while Dallas saw Shaq Moore and Musa themselves finding the net from the spot. However, missed chances from Patrickson Delgado and Nolan Norris proved costly for the home side.
The turning point came late when Ralph Priso’s clinical strike in the 90th minute leveled the score in regulation, setting the stage for the Vancouver Whitecaps to surge ahead. Belal Halbouni sealed the 5–3 result with another composed penalty, ensuring the Whitecaps left Texas with all three points.
Dallas created numerous chances, with Petar Musa and Logan Farrington coming close to adding to their tally, but the Whitecaps’ defense and timely blocks, particularly from Yohei Takaoka in goal, held firm. Vancouver’s combination of composure under pressure and opportunistic finishing proved decisive in a match where the scoreline could have swung either way.
This win highlights Vancouver Whitecaps’ resilience and attacking depth, while FC Dallas is left to rue missed penalties and squandered chances in a high-octane contest.
