Quito, Ecuador āĀ Inter Miami CF continued their 2026 preseason tour of South America with an entertaining 2ā2 draw against Ecuadorian giants Barcelona SC at Estadio Banco Pichincha. Lionel Messi stole the spotlight with a goal and an assist, but the Herons were forced to settle for a draw after a late equalizer by the hosts.
Inter Miami opened the scoring in the 31st minute through Messi, who produced a trademark solo run from midfield, weaving past defenders before firing a left-footed shot into the bottom corner. The goal marked the Argentine starās first of 2026 and showcased his enduring brilliance ahead of the new MLS season.
