Inter Miami Falls 3–2 to Club León After Late Collapse

Inter Miami CF let a two-goal lead slip away as Club León completed a dramatic comeback to win 3–2, turning a match that appeared to be under Miami’s control into a frustrating defeat.

Miami opened the scoring in the 42nd minute when Daniel Pinter finished from inside the box after receiving a pass from Ian Fray. The goal gave Inter Miami a 1–0 advantage heading into halftime and rewarded a first half in which the home side created several opportunities.

Club León came out with a different intensity after the break. Daniel Arcila quickly leveled the match in the 50th minute, finishing from the center of the box after an assist from Díber Cambindo.

Miami responded almost immediately.

Yannick Bright restored Inter Miami’s lead in the 54th minute, finding the net from close range to make it 2–1. With Miami back in front, the match appeared to be heading in their favor.

But León refused to back down.

Juan Pablo Domínguez equalized in the 61st minute, setting the stage for a tense final half hour. Both teams continued to push forward, with Miami looking for a third goal and León sensing an opportunity to complete the comeback.

The visitors came dangerously close in the 81st minute when Díber Cambindo struck the post.

Two minutes later, León found the breakthrough.

Daniel Arcila scored his second goal of the night in the 83rd minute, finishing from inside the box after Cambindo created the opportunity. The goal completed León’s turnaround and put Miami behind for the first time.

Inter Miami pushed desperately for an equalizer during the closing minutes. Lionel Messi had a shot saved in the 89th minute, while Rodrigo De Paul saw an effort blocked shortly afterward.

Miami continued attacking deep into stoppage time, but Club León's defense held firm. Gonzalo Luján came closest to forcing another twist when his header in the 92nd minute was saved by Óscar García.

The final whistle confirmed a painful result for Inter Miami: a 3–2 defeat after leading 2–1.

For Miami, the loss will be especially frustrating because the team had control of the scoreboard twice but could not protect its advantage. Club León, meanwhile, showed resilience and made the most of its opportunities when the match entered its decisive stages.

The night ultimately belonged to León, while Inter Miami was left to reflect on a second half in which a promising performance turned into a dramatic collapse.
