Orlando, FL – Orlando City SC kicked off their 2024 MLS Playoff campaign in style with a decisive 2-0 victory over Charlotte FC in front of an electrified home crowd at Exploria Stadium. Goals from Facundo Torres and Martin Ojeda sealed the win, putting Orlando just one victory away from advancing to the second round of the playoffs.
The Lions took control early, commanding 65% possession and setting the tone with high pressing and crisp ball movement. Their dominance was rewarded in the 32nd minute when Torres broke through Charlotte’s defense, finding the net with a clinical finish that sent fans roaring. Orlando continued to apply pressure, taking six shots on target while stifling Charlotte’s counterattacks.
Orlando's persistence paid off again in the 77th minute when Ojeda doubled the lead, adding a comfortable cushion and sealing the game for the Lions. Goalkeeper Pedro Gallese stood tall in net, securing a clean sheet and making critical stops to deny Charlotte any chance at a comeback.
