Thrilling Draw in LA Derby

The battle 26 between Los Angeles Galaxy and LAFC hosted at BMO Stadium ended in an exciting 3-3 draw. Gabriel Pec, Denis Bouanga and Javairo Dilrosum were involved in five of the six goals of the game. However, veteran Japanese defender Maya Yoshoda in stoppage time with a header that determinated the final score with three goals lion each side.

With a 4-3-3 formation, the Blakx and Gold had Nkasi Tafari instead of captain Aaron Log as a central defender. The rest of the starting XI was the same: Rayan Hollingshead in the wings; Igor Jesus, Mark Delgado and Timothy Tillman as midfielders; and Nathan Ordaz, Javairo Dilrosum and Denis Bouanga on the attack.

Defense was different in two regards: Ntaki Tafari instead of Aaron Long and a red card for Eddie Segura during stoppage time at the end of the game.

Greg Vanney had a more defensive 4-2-3-1 formation with Novak Mićovićin goal; Marco Garcia and Maya Yoshida as central defenders; Julian Aude and Miki Yamane on the wings; Lucas Samaria and Edwin Cerritos as central defenders; German World Cup winner Marco Reus, Gabriel Pec and Joseph Paintsil as offenders; and Matheus Nascimento as centre-forward.

The first half ended with a 2-1 advantage for the Bkacn and Gold. At the 26th minute, an assist from Rayan Hollingshead ended with a right foot shot from the Gabonese star. Five minutes player, A counter attack that had Nathan Ordaz appearing on the left side ended all the way to the right with a good strike by Javairo Dilrosum on the right. At the 33th minute, a header by Gabriel Pec was stopped by a handball by Rayan Hollingshead. It was the same player that gave the Galaxy the first of three goals by the current defending champions.

At the 67th minute of the second half, Denis Bouanga gave a bigger advantage for the Black and Gold with an assist by central defender Eddie Segura.

When it seemed to be a clear victory by the Black and Gold, the Galaxy made a comeback. Such return in the amscire began with John Nelson and Mauricio Cueva replacing the right and left defensive wings; Isiah Parente bringing fresh legs in the defensive midfield; and Diego Fagundez and former LAFC player and LA county native Cristian Ramirez in offense.

In the Blakx and Gold’s case, the three men in the front were replaced in the last ten minutes of the game. Jeremy Ebobisse, Yaw Yeboah and David Martinez took the place of Nathan Ordaz, Denis Bouanga and Javairo Dilrosum. Frankie Amaya replaced Mark Delgado on the midfield.

Leaded by Gabriel Pec on the right side and Marco Reus through the midfield, the Galaxy scored their second goal at the 79th minute. A deliver by Mauricio Cuevas finished either a header by captain Maya Yoshida. Thus, the latest edition of “El Tráfico” had a 3-3 draw,
