Vancouver Whitecaps FC produced an impressive attacking display to defeat San Diego FC 4-2 on the road in a fast-paced Western Conference matchup.
The Whitecaps struck first in the 30th minute when Brian White finished from close range after a setup involving Thomas Müller and Tristan Blackmon. Vancouver doubled the lead just before halftime as White grabbed his second of the night, calmly finishing after assists from Jeevan Badwal and Kenji Cabrera.
San Diego came out aggressively after the break and pulled one back in the 53rd minute through David Vazquez, whose strike from outside the box reignited the home crowd. But Vancouver quickly regained control. Bruno Caicedo restored the two-goal cushion in the 67th minute after another sharp attacking move featuring White and Müller.
The match shifted further in Vancouver’s favor in the 72nd minute when Luca Bombino was sent off after receiving his second yellow card. Three minutes later, Ralph Priso capitalized on the numerical advantage, finishing from inside the box to make it 4-1.
San Diego continued to fight despite being down a man, and Bryan Zamblé added a late stoppage-time goal to reduce the deficit, but the Whitecaps comfortably saw out the match.
Brian White’s brace, Thomas Müller’s creative influence, and Vancouver’s clinical finishing highlighted a strong away performance as the Whitecaps secured all three points.
