Hugo Lloris Saves the Day

Midweek soccer had St Louis SC and Los Angeles Football Club, two of the newest MLS teams, facing at City Park. The Black and Gold, wearing bright green, had yet another chance to win out of BMO for the first team is the 2024 season.

                  St Louis Soccer Club had Ramon Bueki © in goal; Tim Parker and Joakim Nillson in offense; Anthony Markamich and Tomas Totand on the wings; a double defensive pivot with Tomas Ostrak and Chris Burkin; Celio Pompeu,Ramon Alm, and Joao Klauss in offense; and Indiana Vassileb as a solitary striker.

                  With the excitement of the incorporation of Oliver Giroud, LAFC´s starting XI was as follows: Hugo Lloris in goa; Jesus Murillo and Aaron Long © on defense; Sergi Palencia and Ommar Campos on the wings; Mateus Bogusz, Timothy Tillman and Eduard Atuesta on the midfield; and Cristian Olivera, Kei Kamara and Denis Bouanga on the attack.

                  LAFC had their traditional transition chances; but it was the host team that had the clearest chances. After a hand ball, Joao Klauss took the chance to score from the penalty spot. Hugo Lloris saved the ball twice and kept his goal empty.

                  At the 59th minute, Denis Bouanga scored a stunning goal. Mateus Bogusz gave a long pass to the space, the Designed Player won the race and placed the ball to the net to give the Black and Gold the advantage.

                  Anthony Markanich received a ed card at the 75th minute due to a foul. The following portion of the match was tense and surrounded by yellow cards.

                  In stoppage time, in the 94th minute to be precise, Denis Bouanga took advantage of a defensive mistake taking the ball from half the field and flipping the ball giving the Black and Gold the two-goal advantage. Thus, LAFC earned their first away victory and St Louis lost their first home game.

                  St Louis travels to Cincinnati next Saturday. Until May 25th, LAFC travels to Mercedez Benz Stadium to play against Atlanta United.

                  Two of the French-speaking players, Hugo Lloris and Denis Bouanga, were the protagonist on tonight´s game. The fourth one, Maxime Chanot being the third, will come until July.
